I just Watched...Something Borrowed

Wow looking back its been a super long time since ive reviewed a movie. Although ive seen several over the month long gap, for whatever reason I didn't have the time to get to them up. So now that summer is in full swing it seems like the perfect time to bring it back! On tuesday I went and saw Something Borrowed with the woman which is exactly what the trailers and tv-spots make it out to be. A romantic comedy good for couples or first dates. Find out my feelings about it after the break in the return of Wifihighfive movie reviews!

Okay so first I would like to start out with a side point. The Office cast is everywhere! Every single trailer had one of them in it, some in lead and some in main including John Krasinki (Jim Halpert) who plays a major supporting role in Something Borrowed. Back to the film. Something Borrowed is the result of two many cooks in the kitchen or more to say two many writers on the page. Im quite sure that the book this was adapted from was hilarious and great and all that, but it may not of transferred to the big screen quite that well. The story is muddled and I tried to feel for the main character Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin) but I just couldn't, so when something emotional would happen me and the audience would be kinda confused at what to do or what to feel. Never a good sign for a film.

The main actor Colin Egglesfield is so overly tanned that he makes everyone else look pale by comparison. His character is an idiot and doesn't know what he wants so when he makes the right decision I think "well I would of done that at the beginning of the movie..very clever writers, fooled us again."

Although some of the dialogue was shallow, it is a romantic comedy where dialogue isn't as important as making the audience smile with their date and have an overall good time. If you have someone special out there and your going to the movies and she suggests to go see Something Borrowed, know that your getting the standard romantic comedy and nothing more. A few laughs, some awkward on screen movements and the prince saving the princess in the end.

I bet I'll end up having to see this but it doesn't look like my sort of thing at all.
