Not really a content heavy day but just thought id update. Well basically yesterday I presented my final project proposal to my advanced production program and was selected among with two other fantastic ideas to be completed by the class. Im exited that ill be working with such creative people to bring my story to life. Below is a short synopsis!
Hands of a Master
Synesthesia is a neurologically based condition in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. One example is the ability to see certain colors when hearing certain sounds in life and in music.
The Painter is a middle-aged immigrant who’s incredible painting gifts are wasted. His worsening Synesthesia creates a bleak and depressing world for him that can only be unlocked by his dead wife’s voice, which allows him to feel happiness for but only a couple seconds. After loosing his job, and being locked out for not paying rent he finds solace in expressing his anguish through street art. After tagging various locations through his past he reaches his back yard pool staring deep into it he throws all his paints and spray cans in the water. They all break open coloring the water a multitude of colors. The Painter takes out his phone and calls his dead wifes voice mail and jumps in hitting the multicolored pool water just as his wifes voice mail kicks in. Time stands still and he hovers frozen as his world explodes with color as the voice mail plays. Slowly fades to a tunnel of white light.
Over the next couple months ill be spending a lot of time working on this project and will be providing a lot of behind the scenes video and blog entries. Although Im just taking small steps into the world of film making ill answer any questions you all have.
